Instructions to correspondendts/surveyors

In the case of a casualty, where a survey has been ordered, Alandia Marine need preliminary information as soon as possible, but no later than 24 hours after first attending the vessel, including a first evaluation of the situation and extent of the damage occurred. A final evaluation shall be issued as soon as possible, but no later than three weeks after rectification of the damage or 3 weeks after attending the vessel.

The survey shall reveal relevant facts relating to the accident including but not limited to; a schedule of the events leading up to the casualty, results of any subsequent analysis, actions that have been taken and a cost estimate of damages. Furthermore, the survey shall include documentation of any persons that have been onboard or at the place of the incident and their respective positions. If the injured party is a third party information shall follow continuously over the measures taken by this person and an estimate of the claim shall be made.

The survey report shall also reflect   if the claimant selects to perform any repairs in excess of necessary damage repairs, any additional maintenance of the vessel, rebuilding or other non-damage related works.
